His master’s thesis examined risk and protective factors during recovery from methamphetamine abuse, exploring the psychological and social conditions that support sustainable recovery.

Ionos has worked in addiction treatment programs including Projecte Home, where he provided group therapy, psychoeducation, and individual cognitive-behavioral interventions. In this setting he also supported clients in navigating broader aspects of recovery, helping them access medical care, legal guidance, and social support systems as part of a comprehensive treatment approach.

He also worked at Clínica Solarium as a counsellor, providing therapeutic support using approaches centered on acceptance, compassion, and behavioral change. His work included individual sessions, family support, group therapy, and psychoeducational programs focused on understanding substance abuse and recovery processes.

Ionos clinical practice integrates psychodynamic insight, behavioral frameworks, and humanistic psychology. He works with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, systematic abuse and addictive behaviors, offering telehealth sessions in a confidential and supportive environment.

His therapeutic values are strongly influenced by humanistic psychology, emphasizing ethical listening, acceptance, and the individual’s capacity for self-actualization. He approaches psychological difficulties through a systemic perspective that considers personal history, relationships, and social dynamics, seeking to understand symptoms not only as problems to be reduced but as meaningful expressions within a person’s life context. From this perspective, therapy becomes a space where individuals can explore their possibilities for change with clarity, empathy, and find solutions together that are realistic, understanding what is really under their control spectrum.

I prefer using my author name, as my legal identity has been targeted for quite some time. I attempted to formally change it, but the offices in Ciudad Juárez do not process those procedures.

Ironically, I have also been unable to upload copies of my manuscript through the INDAUTOR website because the submission links have not been functioning for a while now.

In many ways, that dysfunction has become another reflection of the institutional decay surrounding this story.

I can´t fly out from this country as my way is being blocked and family refused to support my prosperity and wellbeing.

Considering the events I endured during the summer of 2025, documented in the testimony of LYRA, my soul can no longer afford another uncertain adventure in search of rebuilding itself in a foreign country.

Why I Share My Story

I share my story not to assign blame, but to leave a preventive record of a life journey marked at times by vulnerability, limited support, and circumstances that challenged my integrity.

By sharing these testimonies, I hope to contribute to a broader conversation about resilience, responsibility, and the importance of creating environments where people can seek help, be heard, and recover their sense of possibility.

My Purpose

Ion´s work is guided by a commitment to using psychological knowledge, clinical experience, and human understanding to support individuals and communities facing adversity.

Through therapeutic interventions, education, and community engagement, his goal is to help people navigate difficult life circumstances and develop the psychological resources necessary for growth and recovery.

Alongside his clinical work, he is developing the BoS (Book of Survival) testimony series, a collection of narratives and lived experiences that seek to give voice to survivors and highlight pathways of resilience. These works aim to transform personal testimony into a source of reflection, learning about psychology and challengues future generations will face as we identify new social synthoms of violence and abuse.

Looking toward the future, Florian Ionos is also interested in developing digital tools and applications designed to expand access to mental health support, particularly for vulnerable populations. Inspired by humanistic psychology and the work of Abraham Maslow, his vision is to contribute to initiatives that help individuals move beyond survival toward self-development, dignity, and the realization of their potential.

Proffesional Profile Ionos Florian Collin Richard (Enrique Ibarra) is a psychologist and therapist with an international academic background and clinical experience across Latin America and Europe.
